Head Shot
Alexi Ivanchik, is a retired mechanic & h needed a picture of himself for a men’s club he is in. A serious fellow, Ivanchik likes to think of himself as a capable mechanic with a strong ethic of protecting a client’s privacy.
To satisfy his desire for this portrait he wanted the image to not show a prominent scar on the left of his face and to de-emphasize his strong eyeglass prescription. So, I used strong side lighting by flash and removed the lenses from his glasses for the shoot, errr portrait session. I wanted to emphasize his occupation so we included some of his tools. He liked the image and I got to live.
