The ‘Mission’ La Purisima Concepcion de Maria Santisima near Lompoc, California. Erected in 1787, Destroyed by earthquakes in 1812, attacked by native americans in 1824, abandoned by the church in 1834 it fell to rubble. In 1934 it was rebuilt as a public works project of the Great Depression. Today it is a state park.
