how the picture was made, i have been experimenting a lot with ND density filters in order to give a painterly look to my pictures, 1/100 sec. f/5, iso 200, two gradient filters were used. one was a 2 stop & and a gray gradient filter for the sky, the foreground rocks were illuminated by to speed lights, to add some fill light. so i would have something to work with in photoshop.
